Fall For Anything Lyrics
Is the world so big, it makes you feel small
Is the hole you dig, deep enough at all
The graveyard is full my grandma used to say
If you don\'t stand for something you will fall for anything
Is time worth saving in paper dollar bills
\'Cause we always just done it don\'t mean we always will
Is it worth singing along if you have a song to sing
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall for anything
Can one single person make a change if they try
It\'s true all the martyrs that ever lived already died
Is the road so long we\'re gonna have to drive
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall too far behind
Is there meaning in all these words that we say
Is there reason for living life anyway
Is confusion a state like Iowa or Maine
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall for anything
Are the waters so rough \'cause we tried to scrub them clean
Do we mean the things we do, do we do the things we mean
When a child is born, is it because she has sinned
If she tries to stand for something, will she take the fall for everything
When the day has come your shadow lost it\'s light
Will you see in the darkness who was wrong and who was right
Will the devil pay your tab and take you home with him
\'Cause you either stand for something or you fall for anything
Is the hole you dig, deep enough at all
The graveyard is full my grandma used to say
If you don\'t stand for something you will fall for anything
\'Cause we always just done it don\'t mean we always will
Is it worth singing along if you have a song to sing
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall for anything
It\'s true all the martyrs that ever lived already died
Is the road so long we\'re gonna have to drive
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall too far behind
Is there reason for living life anyway
Is confusion a state like Iowa or Maine
If you don\'t stand for something, you will fall for anything
Do we mean the things we do, do we do the things we mean
When a child is born, is it because she has sinned
If she tries to stand for something, will she take the fall for everything
Will you see in the darkness who was wrong and who was right
Will the devil pay your tab and take you home with him
\'Cause you either stand for something or you fall for anything

I think this song is about just standing for something -- having political views and, in general, just getting well-educated. You can relate it to a democratic government. If you're not educated on the issues and if you don't have a stand or point of view, you'll fall for anything a candidate says.
I love this song. It's tied in my mind for the best Jeremy Fisher song with "Drunk On Your Tears"
I think this is talking about much more than having political views. You'll find that a persons moral/ethical/spiritual beliefs are what fuel their political views so this goes deeper than that. I think it's clearest in the last verse where he asks if the devil is paying your tab. He's asking where your values and loyalties lie.
yeah, i think this song is a lot more emotional than political views. i think it's more about life in general, and doing something with yourself. notthatone makes some good points about morals and such.
i love this song (: it's very beautiful, i think it talks about how if you don't stand up for how you feel, then you will never get anything you want... i believe that means emotionalluy, and maybe politically
