Winter In The Hamptons Lyrics
Bah la dot bah, bah la bah la bah (x2)
Here we go, singing our songs without soul
The winter has gone, where do we belong
We have stayed too long
Friday night, we're so uptight we get stoned
Sit in the Hamptons, it is too cold
We have stayed too long
Spring is finally here and we're so well dressed
It's a talent and it's our style
So put on your hat because the forecast is rain clouds
Bah la dot bah, bah la bah la bah (x2)
Never know, Americans seems such a bore
Embarrassed and still we are hanging on
We have stayed too long
And we'll fly, take a gypsy to Euro side
A morning is gone, were do we belong
We have stayed too long
Sick of living here, we're such a mess
'Cos the government, they're all liars
So put on your hat, because the forecast is rain clouds
Bah la dot bah, bah la bah la bah (x4)
The winter has gone, where do we belong
We have stayed too long
Sit in the Hamptons, it is too cold
We have stayed too long
It's a talent and it's our style
So put on your hat because the forecast is rain clouds
Embarrassed and still we are hanging on
We have stayed too long
A morning is gone, were do we belong
We have stayed too long
'Cos the government, they're all liars
So put on your hat, because the forecast is rain clouds

This song is amazing, it's the first Josh Rouse song I heard and it will always be my favorite. I think it's about rich kids, wasting their lives away and kind of just living however they please.
It's about two people who don't want to live in the same place all the time, and decide that in spring, they'll go somewhere else, in order to find where they belong and to gain an experience of the world at large.
With it's repeating "we have stayed too long" chorus, I think it has something to do with the war in Iraq. ...just a thought!
It could be about the war in Iraq...especially with the "government" lyrics.
