Dehumanization Lyrics
A new level reached, where the absence of air lets me breathe
I’m inverted electrical impulses. A malfunctioning death-code incomplete
All things before me, at first unliving glimpse undeciphered
Its semantics rid of logic. Nothing is all. All is contradiction
Grinding, churning – the sweetest ever noises
Decode me into their non-communication
A soundtrack to my failure, one syllable, one vowel
A stagnant flow of endings. Un-time unbound. Merging to form the multi-none
A sickly dance of matter, malignantly benign. Greeting the chasm – unbearable, sublime
I’m inverted electrical impulses. A malfunctioning death-code incomplete
All things before me, at first unliving glimpse undeciphered
Its semantics rid of logic. Nothing is all. All is contradiction
Decode me into their non-communication
A soundtrack to my failure, one syllable, one vowel
A sickly dance of matter, malignantly benign. Greeting the chasm – unbearable, sublime

First I have to say, if you guys aren't going to dicuss songmeaning hense, http://www.songmeanings.net, just go talk on youtube or something. It's annoying trying to look for song meanings when I shouldn't have too.
Iv'e heard some interviews with Meshuggah and they tend to be very open. By this I mean, they don't classify themselves, they don't explain everything about the band or their songs in great detail, and this fluidity they express seems very contradicting to their style of music, their sound. Thats why I love Meshuggah so much. Tomas said in an interview that the lyrics in this album are ment more to show an emotion than to tell an actual story. So when I see people interpreting songs for more percise things I would imagin that thats probably not what they were going for. It's kind of funny how Mathmatical their music sounds and how advanced the words are but, that is just the way we, the listeners, interpret it. So I try to interpret the lyrics in the most simplest way I can think of.
This song to me epresses the way one feels when he or she is different. They become "inhuman".
What do you think about my interpritation?
In my opinion, this song is the best from Catch 33.. I know, whole album is like one song, but this part is the most agressive.
2:10: Meshuggah v/s a Nuclear Weapon.
Mmmm love these guys!
I believe this whole CD is a story, and each 'song' is a new chapter. Yet i do not know what the story is yet, i need to study the lyrics. Awesome though
Meshuggah, nu metal? what the hell are you thinking?
glorious.
Does anyone else think Jens screams out "I" after "A soundtrack to my failure, one syllable, one vowel"????
dude, of course he says "I"
Part of this song sounds like the opening of Shed.
I personally like the personae non gratae stretch better (despite the fact it's short) but this song is just as awesome, im clueless as to what it means however
