White Unicorn Lyrics

Have you been to the carnival
I would like to see you
There's ma whole lot of people there
Who would like to be you
With the white unicorn across her shoulder
Made you think that she might have been
Someone who's older

And I know it's on your mind
We've been drinking on the whine
That we drank from the serpents vine
Now we live in another time

We could live together

She lives on the border line
That they call hazy
And the tent that she lives in
Has the name of her lover

And I know it's on your mind
We've been drinking on the whine
That we drank from the serpents vine
Now we live in another time

Sister can you tell me when the days turn to night
She left without a word and wondered inside
How many days must I still wonder why
And see her face in every passer by

We could live together

And I know it's on your mind
We've been drinking on the whine
That we drank from the serpents vine
Now we live in another time

We could live together

This song is delicious! Me and my friends learned how to play it, (not on guitar hero or somethi8ng homo like that.) But this song is like an orgy in the ears.

Geez, Most of these lyrics are wrong! schmeh, here are3 the ones from the WOlfmother booklet:

Oh! also there was (in 05) a huge Unicorn made of plaster there... again... possible burning man refference...

And also the whole "we can live together" thing is an easy link.

I think that this song is about a girl at a carnival that thelead singer knows, maybe is/was friends with, but then fell in love with, and now dreams of a future with her: "We could live together...". But then she moved on with the carnies and he misses her desperately, so much that everywhere he looks he sees her face: "She left without a word...How many days must I still wonder why, and see her face in every passer by". At least, that's what I get from this song. Tis really quite awesome, more people should know about Wolfmother. They rock. The End.

I believe that this song directly related to a relationship with a woman who has Borderline Personality Disorder. The carnival atmosphere, the many lovers, disappearing without warning, leaving the other wondering what happened, fear of abandonment, always want to be together. A lot of wolfmother songs reference the behavior and. Intense insanity life becomes when your lover is a borderline. It's almost an addiction. It's so complex and dissociative at same time. Need songs like this to help describe the whole unreal thing that is life with a borderline.

Allot of songs by Wolfmother make reference to the annual event of "Burning Man" at Burning Man.. www.burningman.com

Burning Man is probably the largest Carnival in the world... it lasts 1 whole week and around 40,000 people show up (over 40,000 in 2005) from all over the world...

A clever lyric can be seen in:

She lives on the borderline That they call hazy

The Layout of the festival is a large circle wich is split in to a cross section of roads the beginning letter of each in alphabetical order and numbers... one of the street names is "Hazy" (H) its the 8th street from the centre.

I have no quotes or proof I'm right... its simply a running trend through out their album.
