Hooray Lyrics
it's cold, and snow's actually on the ground
of this no-snow town
and instead of cars
streets trafficking in sleds
men become boys again
There's a war on the corner
with no guaranteed winner
it's just a snowfall of snowballs
evidence of the winter
and i can feel my hands again
we're almost home
it's 2 PM and our snow is fallin still
as our good city lay still
and our friends are packed
around some no smoking bar
warmin on alcohol
we step into the silence
yeah, we step slowly and quiet
All boys come on and girls join up
just don't grow old
All boys come on and girls join up
we're almost home
this is all we want
time to be with us
a home to lift the cold
still cold, the snow's
turning into rain
and melting away
and all these days slip by us
so let's keep them
All boys come on and girls join up
just don't grow old
All boys come on and girls join up
we're almost home(repeat)
of this no-snow town
and instead of cars
streets trafficking in sleds
men become boys again
with no guaranteed winner
it's just a snowfall of snowballs
evidence of the winter
we're almost home
as our good city lay still
and our friends are packed
around some no smoking bar
warmin on alcohol
yeah, we step slowly and quiet
just don't grow old
All boys come on and girls join up
we're almost home
time to be with us
a home to lift the cold
turning into rain
and melting away
and all these days slip by us
so let's keep them
just don't grow old
All boys come on and girls join up
we're almost home(repeat)

I think the song's about how winter and the magic of a first snowfall can turn everyone into a little kid again.
Brilliant song. The chorus can still catch me by surprise every so often, it's just so unexpected.
Right on with the comments about maintaining youth... he spells it out in the verse that mentions the snow 'turning in to rain, and melting away...and all these days slip by us, so let's keep them'.
Keep the memories of youth fresh even when they try to fade... even when it rains keep the 'snow-days' close at hand to remind us of the magic in childhood.
love love love
I'm really loving this new stuff
"hooray!" for the new MINUS THE BEAR album or should I say Menos El Oso
This is a great song. Alot of the songs from the new album are so good! I love it!
i love the new album, it has an awesome sound to it... but i miss the goofy song titles.
this song definitely has a big metaphor in it.
i dont know tooo much about minus the bear but compared to there old stuff this seems to have alittle more dance to it.. if you catch my drift.
they've really fallen into their own style. if they wern't already pretty unique, they've perfected it. they'll keep moving along though, im already waiting for the next release. the internet has spoiled us all, but you fuckers better be buying this record when it actually releases. its the least we can all do for enjoying it early.
If I had to guess, I'd say this song is about taking hold of your youth while you have the chance.
