Fat Man Lyrics
Don't want to be a fat man,
People would think that I was just good fun, yeah
Would rather be a thin man,
I am so glad to go on being one, yeah
Too much to carry around with you
No chance of finding a woman who
Will love you in the morning and all the night time, too
Don't want to be a fat man,
Have not the patience to ignore all that
Hate to admit to myself
Half of my problems came from being fat
Won't waste my time feeling sorry for him
I've seen the other side through being thin
Roll us both down a mountain and I'm
Sure the fat man'd win
People would think that I was just good fun, yeah
I am so glad to go on being one, yeah
No chance of finding a woman who
Will love you in the morning and all the night time, too
Have not the patience to ignore all that
Half of my problems came from being fat
I've seen the other side through being thin
Roll us both down a mountain and I'm
Sure the fat man'd win

I guess this song is pretty straight forward in it's meaning... I just felt like the lyrics shgould be up here.
this song reminds me soo much of one of my chef's and he likes jethro tull but im sure this isn't one of his favourites hahahahahaha
As they should. Its a cool song.
Roll us both down a mountain and I'm sure the fat man would win...........classic.
This song is my anthem. I'm a 120 pound kid, but whenever I hear this song, i think about the other side, and am very glad that I'm not fat
i sometimes think of that too, whenever i hear this song its hard not to dance
he doesn't want to be a fat man
btw, this song was how Ian got revenge on Mick Abrahams. Mick was a member of the band on their first album. he was a blues purist, but Ian wanted to try other forms of music (Rock, Folk, and electric). Mick also didn't get along with Clive Bunker, and left the band after the album. Ian was pissed off beyond belief, and wrote this song, cus Mick was a little on the hefty side.
P.S. the guy who replaced him was Martin Barre, who now has the second lingest tenure of any member Beside Ian. He is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, along with Jimmy Page and David Gilmour. Anybody who disagrees can F*** me sideways:b
This song cracks me up, even though I've had relatives die from being fat (and the fact that my father is a diabetic).
The Stand Up version is way better. My last comment was after having heard only the Aqualung version.
i totally agree.. this song stuck as kind of a working class anthem.
