This is an absolutely fantastic song. I'm pretty sure it's about intimacy, but in a very elegant sense.
This is going to sound super wierd, but I always thought this song sounded like it was from a stalker/rapist/murderer's point of view. I know, I'm completely off. Oh well.
Such a great song. I'd say it's about someone waiting for the person that they love to spend the rest of the life with them. Or they are waiting for an answer from that one special person
