No New Tale to Tell Lyrics
You cannot go against nature
Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too
Our little lives get complicated
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower
And that's a complicated thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
My world is your world
People like to hear their names
I'm no exception
Please call my name
Call my name
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
AHHHH
When you're down
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down
It's all the same thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower
And that's a complicated thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
People like to hear their names
I'm no exception
Please call my name
Call my name
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down
No new tale to tell

I think it's a litany of the obvious, with pretty shallow wisdom and that ultimately it's some kind of joke: the songwriter is tired of trying to write songs with deep meaning or songs that tell a story and he ends up writing what is essentially a song about nothing. A few self-evident facts, and the title says it all: [this song has] no new tale to tell. I'm wondering if they are poking fun at someone (a vain lyricist who thinks his songs are very clever and meaningful) in particular.
The lyric looks like talking about Stoicism.\n\nWhen you\'re down\nIt\'s a long way up\nWhen you\'re up\nIt\'s a long way down\n\nIt\'s all the same thing\nNo new tale to tell\n\nThese words above are very similar from the meditations of Marco Aurelio, Roman Philosofer Emperor, book 7, first notation
Is that... is that a bicycle horn?!
You mean that awesome solo in this song? I think it's flute- whatever it is, I love it.
I also love this lyric: People like to hear their names I'm no exception Please call my name
A very Zen song. Probably one of the most Zen songs I've ever heard.
