I'm surprised no one hasn't commented yet. This song is pure poetry about being a young boy wanting to be like the grown ups, standing "on a rock", while waiting for your balls to drop.

Also, "getting back to the country" at the time the song was written these guys were buying land in the Ozarks Mountains in north west and central Arkansas, in order to get back to the country, it's where we all come from!
