Ringing Bells Lyrics

Stick around your neck and see what it can bring
Lonely stands the butcher on the ground
Little angel fly, fly among the stars
Jupiter will comfort you with love

So who are you gonna follow
Are you going out somewhere
Can it be the new thing money enough
Where’s that hat you loved once
Let us spoil it for a day
Bring ‘em in she said just for a day
Just for a day

On the way to you between busy moon
Crash beneath a window left in bloom
The days are few my friend and winter comes again
Clap, clap and the boy is to lose

So who are you gonna follow
Are you going out somewhere
Can it be the new thing money enough
Where’s that hat you loved once
Let us spoil it for a day
Bring ‘em in she said just for a day
Just for a day

Bring ‘em in she said
I said just bring ‘em in she said
Ringing bells in Saxton and Oakland bringing you home…

What? the first to comment?!?!

Beautiful song, although I always though the lyric was 'Can it be the new thing money does?'... it just makes more sense to me...?

Mando need more comments people! Especially this song which is one of my favourtie from Hurricane Bar along with All My Senses.. I'm a bit of a Bjorn fan and his voice in ths song is like liquid rainbows. I love it, and everyone else should too.

I absolutely agree, Mando Diao are fucking best! Now this song...I'm wondering what it is about and I hoped to find the answer here, which didnt happen :( it seems to me as if they were thinking of the old times and how it has changed (maybe because of money and fame, but I'm just guessing). And that "bring them in, she said", I'm wondering if it somehow refers to the band. I know that is the name of their first album, maybe with this song and this verse they want to point out you can't only accept one of them but all of them. Like - I like you, i accept you, ok, bring them in (your friends). Any other ideas? It sounds like a love song, but im not sure if bjorn or gustaf go out with someone...

it soudns [to me anyways] like its about somebody, possibly a childhood friend or wahtever who is going away or they are drifting apart; it seems like this person is going in other directons, pursuiing money and their dreams and all that shit, and bjorn is telling him/her to remember time gone by or never forget his/her home, hence lines such as "Little angel fly, fly among the stars" "So who are you gonna follow Are you going out somewhere Can it be the new thing money enough" "Ringing bells in Saxton and Oakland bringing you home…"

...or maybe not...

Actually I quite like that meaning tricksiness, but it could be more about how like they're leaving and travelling the world but there will always be home in Sweden.. like maybe from another point of view? I'm not sure, I cannot get enough of this tune though. I adore it.
