Pickeral Lake Lyrics
To fight on the floor
Throwing the chairs
Through the door
To fight on the floor
Something to say to the poor
Took off the trees
Took off the place to be
The animals died
Once in a while
Once in a while
To make up the bed
Folding the sheets to your half
I wasnt willing
To say it again
Waiting for things to begin
Took off the trees
Took off the place to be
The animals died
Once in a while
Once in a while

does no one else think this has to do with some kind of abusive relationship, and how the ..persona.. wasn't willing to be part of it..? i thought this cause it's reinforced by the fallacy that it's stormy weather, showing the persona's mood... i may be completely wrong but i certainly don't think this is a meaningless song as others suggest.
I heard this song and loved it, but where can one purchase it? Does anyone have an idea? Its not on any of his LPs maybe's its a Michigan/Seven Swans B side?
i bought this cd on itunes, and that's where i got this song. however, when i look up track listings for the album on other websites, it isn't listed. so i'd recommend using itunes to buy it.
Does this song have anything to do with Wolverine, the song? Because neither of them make sense and Pickeral Lake was mentioned in there too.
This song is on Greetings From Michigan - The Great Lakes State. It's a bonus track of a Special Edition. Picked my copy up today, at last.
Was pleasantly surprised to see the 2 extra songs (Marching Band and this) coming with it, I didn't even know they existed. Shame there's nothing in the booklet on it. No lyrics or anything.
The lyrics for this (and three additional bonus tracks) are on the LP release.
In the first & second stanzas, "place to be" should be "plays-to-be"
In the second stanza, "folding the sheets to your half" should be "folding the sheets to your head."
Also, in the title it is spelled "Pickerel," not "Pickeral"
