This is a great song. It's a mix of all their hits but it's got meaning on it's own. The first part seems to symbolize the band's search for fame and creating an image for itself. "Find Duran Duran" and "Just a second, I'll put something on". Trying to marry style and substance.
Then there's the line "Can you hear me now". I wonder if they're responsible for that cell commercial. Anyway, this lyric seems to express the need for communication through the medium of music, having something to say and wanting others to hear and understand.
Burning the ground I've read others say reminds them of how DD were entering a new era and shedding themselves of the past and starting again as a different five members. But also in the beginning, they wanted to lead music listeners out of the dark days of punk, they wanted to help set down the groundwork for this new music scene. But with the burning forests in the background it also seems like this song could be a commentary on the burning of the rain forests. I read that somewhere. And that would explain the line "I tell you somebody's fooling around" maybe.
And "The Rhythm is the power" relates to making music as well. Great song. Duran Duran never does anything half way.
