Sweet Road Lyrics
The song has a simple, childlike dream logic. Put down your burdens (stones, purse, guilt, worry, materialism, status, the blahs) and the sweet road of life will roll out before you.

I thought the its a road and not a soda was a pretty hilarious line. Sweet road sounds like a good soda, but he was also commenting on how you're not gonna find the sweet side of life in artificiality. And I think let the eagles have good times is something about being above things like that, soaring highhhhhh

I have Down Syndrome I have Down Syndrome I have Down Syndrome I have Down Syndrome
"it started like a stone I grew it out but then I rested it I found Sweet Road"
Ok so this is the only part of the song that I can even slightly shake a stick at. I think it is about maturing and growing a beard. Yes I know it sounds silly but think about the above lines in that context. The narrator's chin "started like a stone." In other words it is smooth like a stone and there is no beard. Then the person grew out his beard and "rested it" which I think means he kept it a certain length. Then he finds "sweet road" which I take to mean the future path, the right path, that he will follow for the rest of his life. Maybe it refers to the life of a wanderer on the "sweet road"? I'm not sure, but I do get a general feeling of growing up and maturing.
Side Note: the time signature in this song is very odd. I think it is mixed meter, or perhaps standard meter with some off-beat accents. It's hard for me to decode because very little of the song stays consistent rythmically.
i was watching an interview of AC n they talked alot about their time signitures, ect. they said they didn't really use em. idk

Well the song's meter is in groups of 3, 3, 3, 4, so it's pretty much in 13 time. That is, until it goes into "I found sweet road I found sweet road I found sweet road" with no musical breaks inbetween them then it's just in 6.
As for the lyrics, I don't really know. Like, at all.
hmm interesting...
and no isnt in repsonse to hurry up
if u listen closely, someone is talking in the background asking something and the voice says no
it isn't meant to be in response, what are you talking about?
you write as though someone is saying hurry up, and a voice is repsonding no
but really faintly someones asking a question i cant make it out and it says no in response to that
this is my favorive animal collective song. this song is kinda hard to understand what they're saying though.
this song really is lovely lovely it has a lovely mood
I like their style. strange.
