Gavin's Song Lyrics
I wish you peace
I wish you nights of stars
That beckon you to sleep
I wish you heartache
That leaves you more of a man
I wish I could be there
But I can't
That sit so still
Where people never ever change
never ever will
I wish i could hold you
And make you understand
I wish I could be there
But I can't
Cause she'll need a hand to hold
Boy, she loves you
More than you'll ever know
There are rhymes and there are reasons
And times when nothing stayed the same
But you know my love still remains
I wish you years
I wish you all these
To conquer all your fears
I wish you courage from all that life demands
I wish I could be there
But I can't
Cause she'll need a hand to hold
Boy, she loves you
More than you'll ever know
There are rhymes and there are reasons
And times when nothing stayed the same
But you know my love still remains
I wish I was home
I wish there were nights
Where I was never alone
You know I've said it
And I'll say it once again
I wish I could be there
But I can't

This clearly sounds like a song about his child, but, I'm not sure if Marc has a child. Can someone fill me in?

Yes... Marc does have a child named Gavin and this song is about him.... I personally love the song- its so bittersweet and Marc's vocal abilities are amazing...

when i first heard this song i figured it was a father writing it for his son, the first impression i got though was that he was the deceased father sendin it down to his son...but now it seems like a muzo on the road writing it for his partner and son back home. i love his voice so much and hwo powerful the song is!!

this is a beautiful song.
but aren't the lyrics, "i wish you armies to conquer all your fears"? that's what i thought he said, anyway.

yea cheeseburgers i think you're right that's what the lyrics are I think....

I agree with the lyric of "armies to conquer all your fears". This was written for his eldest son, Gavin. He now has three other children, Gibb, Evangeline Rose and newest baby about 2 months old, Emma Grace. The song for Gibb is on his newest album, self titled, it is the hidden track and and of number 10. Such a cute song about Gibbie
