Bleeding Out Lyrics
Do you know just what it's like to burn inside so often?
To see the life you give is not in vain and not forgotten
To feel it all...
Feel it burn in time
I give it all...
And still I feel denied
Now that I am bleeding out
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
Bleeding out
Is there no place safe and nothing sacred for the living?
I feel the life inside me stain the ground with love and yearning
To feel it all
(To feel it all)
To feel it come alive
To give it all
(To give it all)
So you won't be denied
Now that I am bleeding out
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
Be the change you wish to see in all the world
Give something
Now that I am bleeding out
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
(Bleeding out)
Bleed...
To see the life you give is not in vain and not forgotten
To feel it all...
Feel it burn in time
I give it all...
And still I feel denied
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
Bleeding out
I feel the life inside me stain the ground with love and yearning
To feel it all
(To feel it all)
To feel it come alive
To give it all
(To give it all)
So you won't be denied
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
Give something
I pray for something
Now that I am bleeding out
I fade to nothing
Now that I am bleeding out...
(Bleeding out)
Bleed...

I don't know that this song even needs any translation, it's about as self explanatory as it comes. I could interject many levels on these awesome words, and say "well, in a relationship, I have given it my all, and you aren't trying", I could say on a professional level, "I've worked as hard as I can, and you still don't appreciate what I am".....I think it's my call that no matter what you do, there is no safe place and nothing sacred for the living.....life sux, and then you die. HOWEVER, taken in context of other Dishwalla lyrics.....I think this song is a cry for acknowledgment, it doesn't matter what level you seek it. It's an empowering song that even as you bleed out from giving your all, you aren't going down without one last gasp, one last attempt at making a difference.
It's about a time when Dishwalla met a wounded soldier of battle, and it was so intense they wrote a song about it. "To see the life you give is not in vain and not forgotten"
