why does he want her to come home with him then?=S

i thought it was about the book called lolita by Vladimir Navokov, if it is i don't think it's about his daughter because the book's about a pervert that is obsesses by a 12 year old girl.

The only thing this song has in common with the book is the name.

Actually, it has more than just the name in common with Nabokov's novel.

There's a reference to 'beds at the gold motel', where in the book Humbert takes Lolita all across the country, and 'to bind you' - Humbert winds up using bribery to keep Lolita sleeping with him. It also says 'to find you', which Humbert also tries to do towards the end of the book, and also 'can't find you now'.

Not to mention the open plea of 'won't you come home with me?', which is basically all that Humbert desires.

Personally I'd say it was almost defnitely based on Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita.

And lo-lolita, reminds me of Lo Lee Ta. However, it IS the name of Kelly's daughter, and that's that's what Wikipedia said the song was named after.

I don't know about who is this, but whatever, it's still great.

His daughter's named Lolita? Wow. I thought the book had put people off calling their children that!

Yeah, the song is named after his child Lolita, but i find it difficult to believe that it has anything to do with her.

From what i make of it, it seems to be about a girl that he admired and respected, who lived a poor and dangerous life ("Sold junk at the carousel") in order to survive ("Bind you")

He explains how she made him happy, ("You make my wheel set me free") and as a result, he got mixed up in attempting to save her but failed.

"Oh everything has gone wrong I left you at the gold motel Selling junk at the carousel That bound you down Can't find you now"

A lot of songs within Language, Sex, Violence, Other, seem to focus on regret and loss. Maybe this is yet another example?

nabokov called her "Lo"... i think it's obviously about Lolita, the book... what a masterpiece!!!
