The first time I heard this one I had to hear it again and again, because the words are so true, so often we have nothing to do and have alot of time to just read our bible or pray, but "things" just always seem to come and "take me away from You (God)". And in the song he admits that. Also a correction:it doesn't say "you're all that I want life is so hard to do" this is how it really goes:
