This one is just written within the first line. It's the ever sweet and cliche song written about a boy who's developing feelings for his best girl friend. he's arguing with himself, coming down to realize he does like her. Suddenly, he becomes nervous and shy? What if she rejects him and things become awkward due to the fact that she could very well not share the same feelings as he does. But his inner voice is telling him to take that chance.
Yeah, but what should he've done? I think it's great that McCartney leaves it ambiguous, because I don't think there's a definitive answer, It's either Carpe Diem (sieze the day) or live for the future. Great song, obviously there are a lot of people who have felt like this, and I think he sums up those feelings and expresses them beautifully

This is a good song about a guy that has fallen for his best friend..i must say i have been in this same situation.
I like my best friend, but he likes my other best friend, who hates him. Now he is kinda going for my OTHER best friend and Im kind of lost somewhere in there. I don't think he realizes how much I like him, and I am arguing weather i should tell him now, or wait until i know he doesnt like my friend or tell him at the end of school. He isnt allowed to leave his house or use the hpne or sn and i wont se him next year

this song made me cry the first time I paid attention the lyrics. Not only is it gorgeous, it explains a lot of feelings that happen between girls and guys when they are best friends. It really is a hard situation to solve, and once that line has been crossed, you can never go back.
