Niagara Falls Lyrics

We had friends downstate
When we drove we went to Canada
If we were asked to stay
I was brave
I was brave
I was brave

From the top of the mountain
You could see
Lake Erie
Niagara Falls
From the top of the fountain
I could see farther than anyone

Driving through the line
We pretend we are from Africa
If we fall far behind
I am brave
I am brave
I am brave

This song is sweet, it makes me think of a child remembering a family vacation, especially "we pretend we are from Africa" because it sounds like a game children would play on a car trip.

I really like this song. The line "We pretend we are from Africa / If we fall behind / I am brave" reminds me of when I was on the swim team when I was a little kid. I used to think there were sharks in the deep end, so I would swim extra hard there, so that I wouldn't get eaten. When I heard that line in the song, I thought that maybe he was pretending like lions were following their car for some reason. That sounds kind of silly though.

I don't know why but this is the saddest song in the world to me.

the "I was brave" repetition is a lot like the "seven swans" repetition in that song.
