Wow, this song is NOT literally about actors! It's about an attitude, a way of life. It's just a self reflection. He is comparing himself to an actor because he feels and acts this way. I swear Phoenix is wasted on most of the people who listen to it. Yes it is good music and yes it is relatively simple. It's called a fuckin' metaphor! It is pretty simple. Get over the celebrity craze. The world does not revolve around them.

this song is about a professionals life, it refers to how they can get thing easy. one of those things is sex. he says he wants things to be done by someone whos keeping care of them as to say they need affection that is in some way genuine. "i dont even care for me, i just care about what you think of me". that is the celebrity part. a lot of them get into drugs and just dont care they want affection also and part of this is sex. "im protected" speaks for its self.

basically they want everything at all costs when they want it. this is primarly how celecrities act.

This song is simply about an actor ... and as a lot of actors, he has too much ego, is addicted to acting, thing he got this natural talent: "Don't say I'm doing fine I'm not even trying to"....

My fav line is "The consequences, I leave those things for someone else." When I think of celeb culture and Paris Hilton, I think this is so true... Also this is one of the most straight-forward songs I've heard, there's no guesswork...
