Rosacea Lyrics
Pretending I'm blind in the
back of my mind I have
eyes there
permanent spent neon mind
glowing bent like a church fair
it's enough to make you cry
though you repent it makes
less than a dent in the repair
though you're absolved from
the riddle you've solved
all or nothing
used more than twice by
the sucubus vice while
you're sleeping
it's enough to make you sigh
believe what I say cause it's
hidden away in the meaning
My Rosacea fall away
following my light
Once was a muse system
caste broken used to amusia
found in a maze-meant I'm
lost in the phrase of aphasia
it's enough to make you rye
all that I say is the final
act play in dementia
My Rosacea following fall
away my life
back of my mind I have
eyes there
permanent spent neon mind
glowing bent like a church fair
it's enough to make you cry
though you repent it makes
less than a dent in the repair
the riddle you've solved
all or nothing
used more than twice by
the sucubus vice while
you're sleeping
it's enough to make you sigh
believe what I say cause it's
hidden away in the meaning
following my light
caste broken used to amusia
found in a maze-meant I'm
lost in the phrase of aphasia
it's enough to make you rye
all that I say is the final
act play in dementia
away my life

this is such a pretty yet sad little song i love it
i checked what rosacea was on the dictionary and it is "a chronic form of acne affecting the nose, forehead, and cheeks, characterized by red pustular lesions."
it doesnt seem to have anything to do with the song though. does anyone have an idea?
I think the song is the narrator's state of mind as a result of her rosacea and society's reactions to it. She's probably been ostracised. She retreats back into her own mind and then the final line is "all that i say is the final act play in dementia".
This song is stunning. My favorite Katastrophy Wife song, and one of my favorite songs, in general. Kat's so underappreciated. So heavily talented, yet not enough people realize that. My personal interpretation would have to be that this song is about what the title suggests: Rosacea, or mental illnesses. Rosacea is a skin condition that causes four face to flare up with redness, so maybe it's about how someone feels ostracized. Or maybe it's a mix of the two. Being excluded from everyone else makes the person have mental issues. Who knows? Such a pretty, yet sad and haunting song.
*your face, not four :P
*your face, not four :P
I LOVE this song.. My thought is just pretty cut and dry, she's being cheated on and when she thinks about it her "rosasea" is her face turning hot and red when she starts to cry..
Kat allegedly was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I think the lines about amusia and aphasia give it away. Those are symptoms that can be experienced by people who have the diagnosis. I think rosecia is just a metaphor for it. Something you can't get rid of that changes the way you get along in society forever. And if it was triggered by her drug usage in her early years, or at least believed to be, the whole first paragraph makes a lot of sense.
