The Long Road To The Middle Lyrics
Is there nothing sacred anymore?... anymore
raise your head and say,
well done. well done. well done.
before they put you in a casket
so you know that you were worth it
before they put you in a casket
so you know that you were worth it
try keeping some things to yourself for a change
said the boy who cried wolf...
so you dont end up like me
sex drugs and rock and roll
never looked so good
said the best fifteen minutes of your life
to the future nine to five
forty-something family man
raise your head and say,
well done. well done. well done.
raise your head and say,
well done. well done. well done.
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
try keeping some things to yourself for a change
try keeping some things to yourself for a change
how did you spend your fifteen minutes?
fifteenth minute...
well done. well done. well done.
so you know that you were worth it
before they put you in a casket
so you know that you were worth it
said the boy who cried wolf...
so you dont end up like me
never looked so good
said the best fifteen minutes of your life
to the future nine to five
forty-something family man
well done. well done. well done.
raise your head and say,
well done. well done. well done.
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
how much do we lose?
how much is gained?
try keeping some things to yourself for a change
fifteenth minute...

im a little confused about this one. i somehow think it is referring to someone's meaningless life??
idk
its good though
someone who didnt do anything in their life, never took risks, never lived to their full potential. had a family, worked 9 to 5. something we all hope to escape from
I think this song is about one's relization that they want to become a musician. The line "Sex drugs and rock and roll never looked so good" is mainly what gives it away but also the rest of it is about how you could either work from "nine to five" and be a "forty-something family man" or you could do something you'll accually be proud of.
Incredible.
i think this song is about regret, and opputunities that werent taken in life. You realize the things you missed when you are settling down in life with a family. And it seems the main speaker in this song is possibly impliying a message to the youth, telling us to take our few opputunities (15 minutes of fame) and use them to your best.
