Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
I love it when this song ends and there is a pause before Happiness starts. At night its pretty freaky bcause you know its coming, but I can never get it dead on.
Creepy song, I wonder why they don't open with this song more often. Maybe the will in th future.e
The title is taken from Hellbound: Hellraiser II. The scene where kirsty's father writes in blood "I am in hell help me". Clive barker had a big influence on trent's earlier work it seems. the whole s n m themes and all. he even thanked him in the PHM book...
I agree with moraldecay, this song name is inspired from the 2nd hellraiser movie. Also in the movie there is a scene which very closely resembles the video of pinion with it showing the steaming pipes and stuff, definetely influenced by hellraiser, also came out around the same time.
Trent's instrumentals are always amazing. And agreed with FaaipDeOaid, this song always sends a chill up my spine. Nine Inch Nails has emotion with or without lyrics.
That last comment: lol. Anyone seen the musicvideo for this song? I don't mean that broken movie, but what i mean is justa video with this playing on background and there'S a man covered flies and eating some stake and drinking wine. Freaky!
