Upon the rocks above the falling water he comes close
To jumpin off the edge instead of standing watching what's below
And when there's frost outside on every window cold winds blow
Comes so close to walking out the front door without a coat
There is no round the corner anymore
There is no round the corner anymore
There is no round the corner anymore
There is no round the corner anymore
Whatcha gonna do jagged edge lays in your bath not gonna hate it?
Whatcha gonna do to someone who hold you back you not gonna have it?
Whatcha gonna do if there's a siren floating round you not gonna catch it
Whatcha gonna do if it gets to weary through the horn you not gonna exit?
Upon the rocks above the fallin water he comes close
To jumpin off the edge instead of standing watching what's below
And when there's frost outside on every window cold winds blow
Comes so close to walking out the front door without a coat
There is no round the corner anymore
There is no round the corner anymore

the feeling i get is of an impression of childhood and nostalgia.

also ...i think a nostalgia for a common place to be is clearly expressed. there is no around the corner anymore. there's no place where you can go and meet your friends and talk like you used to because of the linear progression of time,( or at least our perception of it)

somewhere in the suburbs i think.

also there's a male component and a female component to the verses. there's 2 maybe melding points of veiw about how things used to be?

It's a really pretty song and it reminds me of my little corner of pa.

This song seems to be about suicide, especially when you focus on the part about jumping off the edge. Also, later in the song, they sing "What are you going to do if you get too weary to go on? You're not going to exit."

I think they are talking about suicide as an exit to life.

Also, the idea of "there is no around the corner anymore" means that you are headed straight ahead and not turning left or right.

interesting analysis, but i think that it might even be an anti-suicide song... using the line "...if you get to weary to go on? you're not going to exit" means you should just keep going and see what's ahead in life, since that's all we know and all we ever will know while we're alive, you might as well tough it out since you're here. there is a lot of desperation in the song, but desperation for what? i think it might be desperation for a better life, not necessarily ending life.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
