Booze Me Up And Get Me High Lyrics

All that 'schlager at the bar
Flakes of gold swim in my brain
I ate the worm the night before
And tonight I'll probably do it again

Shotgun Becks down at the Shore
I've got a friend at the liquor store
Deaner likes his red wine dry
So booze me up and get me high

Booze me up and get me high
Why don't you give it a try?
Let the bottle do the work
To ease the mind and soothe the hurt

Me and George finish the Jack
After drinkin' down my last six pack
I'm not feelin' bad myself
'Cause there's another bottle on the shelf

Cribber likes his Guinness in cans
And Andrew, he's a tequila man
But it don't take much to get me high
So booze me up and get me high

Booze me up and get me high
Why don't you give it a try?
Let the bottle do the work
To ease mind and soothe the hurt

This song is all about drinking, of course. But there has never been a true studio version of this song, to appear on album. As explained by the band members "The best versions of this song tend to come about when we are smashed and playing a live show". "The magic of this song just hasn't been successfully captured in the studio". Just to contradict that, there was a decent studio version available for download on the Offical Ween Website several years back. I'm sure it can still be found floating around, the band has always been good about giving out internet freebies to their fans.

One mistake in the lyrics: "wind" is actually "Wine"

I like this song. It's about drinking and everyone having a different taste, but the general goal is the same: To get buzzed/drunk and have a good time.
