I wish I understood this shit about matches. Things like devils on matchsticks or match heads. Perhaps this has something do with that or perhaps he's referring to... I don't know, cigarettes? One match, three cigarettes? I have no fucking idea, seriously. I need help here.

'Three on a match', as I just learned last night, is an old superstition from WWI: it was said that if three soldiers lit their cigarettes with one match, one of them would die. So, obviously, it's considered to be bad luck to do so.
