Fumble Lyrics

Found a flaw in the ending of a book that I’ve read twice. I set her straight it’s not based on your life. There’s tension in this room we’ll have butterflies soon, fumbling round in the dark with a flashlight. No need to be uncalm we’ll, leave it by the phone. A message you can swallow, a letter to sign. No need to be alarmed we’ll leave this all alone And all the guilt will follow You in a line... There’s tension in this room We’ll have butterflies soon fumbling round in the dark with a flashlight.

I\'ve always had a thing for cute, naive pop songs about sex.

Realizing that their relationship was just lustful, and having to break it off because one of them realized, after a while, that the other is not what they're looking for.

I was in love with this song before I read the lyrics, and that line about fumbling around in the dark with a flashlight reminds me of all those times I've spent reading under the covers as a child. and thinking that I might share that someday.

This song is actually sort of sad. If you read it differently than a "cute pop song about sex",the first two lines say something different: "found a flaw in the ending of a book i read twice." this is a line of disappointment. Think about it. To read a book twice you must actually like it, and if there's a flaw you'd probably be disappointment. "I set her straight, it's not based on your life"--> a snappy comment, don't you think. "hey, there is this story I used to like alot, but it's ruined now...oh don't worry, I'm not talking about YOU"

and then there's tension in the room...

But as you see I had a different opinion a while ago, implying that interpretation of music really has to do with the mood you're on...

the horns in the beginning of this song sound so awesome. they're what make me OBSESSED with this song.

has anybody else thought about the line, "A message you can swallow" a reference to drugs maybe i was thinking, im not really sure.

i love windmills's interpretation. :)

This song will always remind me of autumn. Probably because of the sudden change in music at the end.
