Light For The Deadvine

I think that the middle of this album (Moth to Light for the Deadvine) is a narration of a distant love affair. By distant, I mean that the parties involved aren't in any position to meld their lives together, but still strongly desire each other. This relates to that because he is reaching the point where the knowledge of mutual affection is not enough to sustain him anymore. He is basically pleading with the person to just give in. He is trying to explain that being unhappy and burdened for the sake of responsibility is not worth it in the end. Where he says "no cars facing our way" and "we'll all melt away like ice in your hand" he is promising that the negative consequences of their actions will not be permanant, and in the end they will find what they have been looking for.

I think it's about someone who wants to have a relationship with someone underage ("My, you have grown", "You will only come of age") but their affections are unrequited ("Give me some recognition"). But that love is bordering on obsession ("Who are you fooling, your heart is bleeding"). "No cars facing our way" is probably them trying to reassure that they won't get in trouble for the relationship, that no one will find out and they'll keep it going behind people's backs. And melting away probably means sex.

I don't necessarily think this song deals with a relationship or an obsession with an underage girl.

I think it could deal with the death of a specific person or mortality in general.

It kinda just sounds like he's seeing someone for the first time in a long while (my, you have grown), and he sees how pathetic that person's life has become (you, left alone). The rest of the song it sounds like he's trying to convince this person that they need him, and they should leave with him, but they continue to refuse his offer.
