This one is actually the best tune on the cd, no lie.
hmm i don't think its THE best but i def agree that its one of the best:)
He's struggling with feelings of pride and wanting to be the best, but his religion tells him that that it's sinful to think that way. The knowledge he possesses causes stress and leads him to break down and he's asking for some comfort from someone that he's not the only one who feels this way.

I think this is a growing pains song. When you're a kid, you want to be this great person, and do all these great things. When you're an adult, wou have to realize that might not happen, and that this isn't the worst that could happen. But in between, there's this point where you have to hold both views at once, and it's hard.
And I think this is about having a crush, too. Just a little bit.

I have always thought of this song along the same lines as tallgirl. which is why instead of "so like a show I gotta be strong", I have always heard "so like good Job I gotta be strong". I thought that is what it said for the lyrics in the cd book thing too. I'll check again later, but it makes sense doesn't it? I think I get the gist of the song overall. He wants to know there is something good to live for, because right now all he knows is that he wants to be the best, but he knows it's wrong. that's what I get from it. but then I look at it line by line and all the tell me something goods and the I want something bads get jumbled. but basically. I love this song. It's beautiful. his voice, the lyrics, the music, the meaning, everything.
