For Amelie Lyrics
Why don't you feel me
Why can't I hold your hand
(You) Never said that you'd leave me
And I know you are somewhere
I held you up
Every time you were down
Your crying stopped
when I was around...but..
Why don't you love me?
Enough to stay with me
Now tell me truly
Was it there in your heart too?
All that I'm left with
Is a dream of me and you
You filled my soul
With your beauty and with hope
We're differnet although
We were just like water in sand
Why don't you feel me
Why can't I hold your hand
You never said that you'd leave me
And I know you are somewhere
I held you close
When you fell to the ground
And now you've torn all my hopes apart
You could have said goodbye
Why can't I hold your hand
(You) Never said that you'd leave me
And I know you are somewhere
Every time you were down
Your crying stopped
when I was around...but..
Enough to stay with me
Now tell me truly
Was it there in your heart too?
All that I'm left with
Is a dream of me and you
With your beauty and with hope
We're differnet although
We were just like water in sand
Why can't I hold your hand
You never said that you'd leave me
And I know you are somewhere
When you fell to the ground
And now you've torn all my hopes apart
You could have said goodbye

Actually, the entire Lovelorn album is a story about a girl (Amelie) and her lover. Amelie and him had the love of a lifetime, but she ended up drowning. For Amelie is actually from the man's perspective, basically asking why she couldn't stay with him. If I remember correctly, this happens during a conversation he has with a mermaid.
omg! this song is so beautiful....whose amelie though?
I don't know but this is one of my favorite songs ever. Her voice is an angel, and so melodic
Wow, I agree. liv has a very angelic voice. its really a dreamy song, lovely to fall asleep listening to :)
has the feel of a departed loved one, doesn't it? There's a reference to Amelie in Lovelorn as well. Weird. anyway what it's about: Amelie (whoever it is) has left, and liv is left mourning her. It feels as though Amelie was depressed or something, and Liv (or her character), cheered her up "Your crying stopped when I was around", but nevertheless, whenever Liv wasn't there, Amelie just went straight back to sadness, and now she's mysteriously gone.
It's beautiful, I cried when I first heard it myself. It's like Liv is only mourning for this person, asking (as if in guilt, or unanswered questions) the person why they left her; was her love not enough to keep (Amelie) by her side? It's sad, it's like saying "You didn't give up or fall down when I help you up and told you to move forward" sort of thing; but Mistress Of Cyanide just explained it :3
You guys are all wrong, it's about my friend who went back to germany :( This song reminds me so much of him it's not funny!
