Everytime i'm left alone
My misery begins to drown me
Tied by a rope of anxiety
Thrown overboard
As i'm pulled under the tides of this fast paces world
I refuse to see
Time will always be the thing that kills me truly
Open these eyes waking from a dream feigning
My lungs fill up with letdown
Disapointement in self and everyone
Expectation died in failure
abandonment my unsavior
Absolution at the sight of your demise
I know what I must do
Choke
Die choking on your every word
Swallow every blasphemy
Eat out your heart and make it bleed
Tie the noose around my neck
Make this life end
My misery begins to drown me
Tied by a rope of anxiety
Thrown overboard
As i'm pulled under the tides of this fast paces world
I refuse to see
Time will always be the thing that kills me truly
Open these eyes waking from a dream feigning
My lungs fill up with letdown
Disapointement in self and everyone
Expectation died in failure
abandonment my unsavior
Absolution at the sight of your demise
I know what I must do
Choke
Die choking on your every word
Swallow every blasphemy
Eat out your heart and make it bleed
Tie the noose around my neck
Make this life end

This song too is amazing. And it fits the intro perfectly. Can anyone tell me what it means?
It's about depression I think, beats me how a song this good can be about such a harsh topic.
dissappointment inself, and everyone, choking on your every word, hes thinking about suicide
Everytime i'm left alone My misery begins to drown me ^shows hes in misery My lungs fill up with letdown ^relates drowning to misery VERY accurately

"Rain is a very personal track about the way I felt about life during a period where I spent much of my time alone - agonizing in anxiety and boredom, failed expectations and treachery from so many I confided in. It seemed like all the while that I was going through this, the whole world kept moving along, happy and content with itself. The last lines of the song are to the world's happiness personified- and all I wanted to do was to kill that happiness, choke out it's every last breath."-Matt Heafy. (lead singer) I got this meaning of the Trivium website, So thats the real meaning..! =)
haha, i thought you were talking about your own life. yeah, cool song.
This song pretty much catures depression to the T
I thought it shows the sight of a dying god. He dies cause nobody believes in him.
In the end-part of the song he sings "swallow every blasphemy" (blasphemy=disrespecting of a god) and that doesn't make sense to what matt said about this song. Or he abuses god then would it make sense.
The blasphemy part could mean someone important or someone they saw highly of they would no longer respect or even hate, rather than a god. I reckon this song is about being sad/depressed or in a trance of extreme anger at something or someone all the while the world keeps moving, and passes them by, because they are stuck in an endless spiral of self destruction, then they just dont want to get back in time with the world. hence the lyrics : "Tie the noose around my neck, make this life end."
Kick ass song
