Fifteen I'm strung out
Once again and kicked out
I think well I'm on my own,
I'm on my own now,

Sixteen and I said goodbye
To those I knew I'll never see
Well I can't see home
I can't see home now

When I look at the path
That I chose and I'll say to you
Live Fast Die Young
We'll stay out on the run

So live fast and die young
Live Fast Die Young
We'll stay out on the run
So live fast and die young

Seventeen I'm sleepin on the
Streets and no hope
I think well I'm in the cold
I'm in the cold now,

I look to a god I said
In my own life
I'll never see well
I can't see home

I can't see home now
When I look at the path
That I chose and I'll say to you.
Live Fast Die Young

We'll stay out on the run
So live fast and die young
Live Fast Die Young
We'll stay out on the run

So live fast and die young
We'll cherish every moment last forever
We'll cherish every moment now
We'll cherish every moment last forever

We'll cherish every moment now
Go Go Go Go
Live fast and die young

This song is about growing up and finding your own way, not knowing were to go, What you're gonna do, but just living your life like it's your last day

Actually...sounds more like it's about him when he first got into the tragic shit that nearly ruined him. He was first addicted to drugs/alcohol young, and at one point got kicked out of school, in turn booting him from home at the tender age of 15. It's pretty much the memrobillia of his life.

i actually agree with all the posts of the song meaning. for him it was about growing up and finding his way through life and for someone else it may be just that.

this song is about how his child was just an unimportant thing then, but now he knows how of a shithole he was. he didnt really celebrate his years, cuz he really didnt care. it was like "woopdy fuckee, another year."

I'm surprised of the amazing line he said.

I look to a god I said in my own life I'll never see well

He is having doubts about his religion, and believing in god.

buckdich1 makes a good point but i think the point is its bad if u do all that because everyone around u cares but its still hurting yourself at the end...and even u changed my point is if u have the chance to make things better do it!

Heh. This is so stupid. I'm 15 now and when I turned 14 I got into all the shit described in this song. I smoke, drank heavily and did a shit load of drugs. I also once assaulted a teacher at school. On top of that, I'd shoplift and steal from cars, plus vandalise property for fun. That was my hobby. I was a total brat to my dad and ran away to live with my mum, and I got kicked out of there numerous times. I first heard this song when I was doing all that and I laughed. He makes it sound so serious. I think he uses his life as a tool to get teenagers on the Internet to feel sorry for him so they'll buy his albums. It's rubbish. I mean "His tragic life"? What's tragic about taking drugs and stealing other peoples stuff? He did it himself. That doesn't make him a victim, the people he hurt are the victims. Do you honestly feel sorry for him because he stole from other people and damaged their property? POOR GUY! (By the way I'm out of all that now and back living with my dad ^_^)

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
