Weapon Of Vanity Lyrics

They paky divine as immortal sons
Pulling triggers and then they switch and run
As long as you have nothing to add,
they run the show
How? Can you get a single shot
with a life like that
So now, will you ever conclude
as it turns to a lack
Deceivement, believe it - can you feel it flow?

Chorus

As a weapon of your vanity
They crave for a soulaching desire
(Won't you play with me?)
As time's standing still they've praised a liar

So now - let me get a minute of your precious time
So how - do you feel now as the vanity is easy to find?
Deceivement, believe it - can you feel it grow?

Repeat chorus
Except: (Won't you stay with me)

I swear, you're nothing like me
And it will never set you free
You won't be able to be down there alone
They fill you up 'til you're ripped and torn
Your life is out there for disposal
Knocked out, before you're ready to leave
Cause I swear, you're nothing like me!
As I reckon you insanity

I think its about somebody who is, I dare say, a "Poser" Someone who pretends to be something they are not. Another take is that someone who was formerly a friend has changed and is vain and full of themselves.

Something like that... Not really sure though.

This is about a person who is so dominating and vain. They want to be the most popular person of the world, and they are the one who is known to be the one at the top. Eg. President Bush. However through all that some people can see the decievement and the lies and pain that they have caused people. In the end the ones who are known to be the mightiest people are the lowest. And the people with less power are the ones who know much more but have no trust in people like that.

The song is about self-righteous religious hypocrites. "They play divine as immortal sons" Christians see themselves as "Children of God."

There is a comment about George Bush- I don't agree with it, but he is a good example of the "liars" that the crazed Christian fanatics praise... mostly "rednecks" or "Southerners" in the USA. (I suppose you could add Palin or the dutch politician, Wilders, to that list of people now too.)

"As long as you have nothing to add, they run the show" I don't know what Strid's experiences were with people like this, but I think this can refer to the superior attitude that hardcore church-going Christians often have towards non-church goers.

I swear, you're nothing like me And it will never set you free You won't be able to be down there alone They fill you up 'til you're ripped and torn Your life is out there for disposal Knocked out, before you're ready to leave Cause I swear, you're nothing like me! As I reckon you insanity

That is self-explanatory for anyone who has known these Christian fanatics for a long time.
