Diane Cool and Beautiful Lyrics

Won't Diane still know tomorrow today she's mostly only said hello over and over?
And won't Diane still more often than not not know if her cigarette's already lit or not?

When we drove around and we looked at the big houses I never knew whether to say yuck or whatever but still we drove around and around just looking at the big houses.

Cool has always been Diane's secret insult and it's so secret she doesn't even know she does it.
Everything's cool if you got nothing else to say about it. So cigarette and cigarette and cigarettes etc.

When we drove around and we looked at the big houses I never knew whether to say yuck or whatever but still we drove around and around just looking at the big houses.

And if she's ever known music as any more than only songs she's yet to let me in on it.

This song reminds me of a girl I know; she talks and talks but doesn't say anything; her favorite brand of cigarettes changes with whatever phase she's going through (California phase - she rolls her own, Coffee Shop phase - cloves, etc. etc.); claims certain songs as though they belong to her.

I tend to turn off my ears whenever she is around.

"Everything's cool if you got nothing to say about it. So cigarette and cigarete and cigaretes etc." I love that line plus the chorus are amazing. Good stuff.
