As I watch the sun
Set slowly, I hold back the tears
And I can't help but wonder
Why the Lord had to put me here

Cause I've raised hell
All night long
And I've seen a good
Man go wrong

And I can't help
The way that I am
Cause the whiskey, weed and women
Had the upper hand

Livin' lonely
Is the life that I been livin'
I got drunk
The day my paw went to prison

And when my mama died
I just didn't care about livin'
And I drank myself blind
Just tryin' to find a good reason

And I've raised hell
All night long
And I've seen a good
Man go wrong

And I can't help
The way that I am
Cause the whiskey, weed and women
Have the upper hand

Yeah, the whiskey weed and women
Have the upper hand, hand, hand

You have now idea how much this hits home! Reminds me of backyard parties, (our backyards being pastures, in Indiana) and just as the sun sets, you remember all the shit that has happened to you, and then you just get drunk and whatever to kill the pain.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
