The music for the track had been bouncing around for a couple of years, surfacing under various names on various recordings. It began life as an instrumental jam called "Jam Stew" or "John's Stew", them morphed into a bit more 'finished', less impromptu product titled "Grabsplatter" (A Gillan title, as he said the music on the track was a "...grabsplatter of ideas & concepts"). The lyrics - once again - were ones that Gillan had brought to the band from his days with Episode Six. More about Gillan's self-doubts about his career choice and what the possible repercussions would or could be...seeing as he's in his 40th year in the business this year, maybe it'd be worth dropping him a line at his website and asking him about it!
