I don't think I really understand the meaning of this entire song, but the chorus means alot to me. "This is survival - our demise | This is extinction - through modern eyes". To me, it's saying our constant efforts to keep the human race alive through technology, medicine, etc. is only bringing us down as a race entirely. Like the world overpopulation is causing more and more people to suffer and die because of lack of supplies, food, and sickness. Our "modern eyes" see helping these people as being the right thing to do, yet it's only causing more pain, really. We're surviving only to die, thus the lyric "This is survival - our demise". Get what I'm saying?
