I Hear You Knocking Lyrics
You went away and left me long time ago
Now you're knocking on my door
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
I begged you not to go but you said goodbye
And now you're telling me all your lies
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
You better get back to your used-to-be
Cos you're kinda love aint good for me
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
I told you way back in fifty two
That I would never go with you
I hear you knocking but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been.....
Now you're knocking on my door
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
And now you're telling me all your lies
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
Cos you're kinda love aint good for me
I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been
That I would never go with you
I hear you knocking but you can't come in
I hear you knocking, go back where you been.....

I love this song! I first heard it in "The Lovely Bones" and found it only a while ago. This song is awesome!
great little heard rock song
Rhythm guitars hold you in, keep you tight, no freedom - listen close & try not to let your feet groove - lead guitar lets you fly - slide & slide away
damn good song cover of an old blues songs
These lyrics could just as easily be about the Devil, or a faithless lover, a demon in woman form. The narrator is saying, Get thee behind me and don't tempt me any more. The Devil is the Prince of Lies, and this woman is full of promises and lies like the Devil. You keep knocking at the door of my heart but I won't let you in again. Go back where you been...go back to Hell.
I love southern bluesy lyrics where the Devil wanders in. Like Edgar Allen Poe's Raven, he keeps knocking at your door!
@Esmerodo since all mainstream popular music is occultic in nature- he could be saying i hear Jesus knocking on the door of my heart, but I don\'t want to let him in. I\'d rather follow the devil. \r\nFrom the blues Robert Johnson to rock\'s Elvis Presley- they have all admitted to selling their souls to satan for wealth and fame. Even pop is occult. Every single musician and Hollywood celebrity, actor, etc. Many sports heroes and wrestling people too.\r\nPeople literally worship these false idols. I used to love rock and popular music. But I see how evil it is now. I don\'t listen to it anymore. It influences people even at a subconscious level.\r\n
