I love Nirvana...but I have to admit...this was a terrible cover.
For me, this song seems to be about a girl named "annie" who used to sleep around. Then she left town. Now, she's back, and "Her style is new but the face is the same As it was so long ago". Means that she has changed, she might not be as easy as before, but she looks and dresses the same tempting way.

this recording is from the first gig nirvana played at a house party near aberdeen. these lyrics arn't the right ones from the led zeppelin song, but im sure they didn't sing the right ones anyways, man .NEVERMIND you are the biggest dipshit, you post on alot of nirvana songs, and im guessing your name is from nirvana's nevermind, but im guessing you must be young and not know your stuff about music, get a hint, come back when you can read and have read some books, or atleast listened to some music other than the hits you see on mtv
^ Yep, the solo sounds terrible, nothing like the original. its only when you listen closely that you realise its actually FAIRLY accurate. Kurt trying to sing like Plant was a major mistake however
People this was not even a cover. They were just fooling around. They said in the show that they didn't even know how to play the song. Krist's singing was bad on purpose. Yeas it's Krist singing, if you doubt, listen to Gypsies Tramps and Thieves cover and compare.
For someone who didn't know how to play it, he still had a decent idea of the solo
this is the FUNNIEST song ever, the way they play it cracks me up, and i completely disagree with 'nevermind'. its the other way around.. .the "style is new"- meaning she dresses properly now or looks better,not like a slut anymore "but the face is the same"-meaning shes still the same on the inside, shes still a slut and has a flirty personality and so on....
