It's a song about two people who couldn't be together. The person talking in it did something to end it, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The other person has moved on, gone on with his life. The speaker is still having trouble admitting it was love even though she's taking some comfort in the fact that is was.

It doesn't sound like 'forwards' to me, it sounds like 'falls' again. What would 'when the day forwards' mean?
this is a real cool song. i think its just about an ex and what you're supposed to think about them afterward. yeah, its over, but it wasnt all bad. you know? like i guess it was love, but its all good now, at least it happened. i think "the name to call me" would be something like "honey or babe, or w/e." the dum dum dums are the best part of the song.

I have to disagree I don't think the name carries a good conotation, I believe it is a negative name. its revealed in the following lines "Yes, I'm sad I'm one of those" the other person was upset about the breakup and thought of a name to call her...and she merely accepts it partly blaming herself for the break up having said too much and being "ungraceful" in her departure.

Personally this is one of those songs that I feel a real connection with as if the song was about me and a guy that I broke up with...you know the feeling you get when you bump into an ex bf/gf and you see how great they are doing without you not jealousy but a sort of remorseful nostalgia...and I'm sure that many other people can relate to this song as well.

The exact feeling and the meaning is what that i'm having till now and it's been 3 months by now. It's an absolutely brilliant song, speaking for two people who couldn't be together, one have been moved on, the other is still. Makes me sad everytime when i hear... sigh
