All This Time Lyrics
Hey well, you figured me out,
and that's all right now, we got somethin to talk about,
Month of September, fourth floor apartment,
We were the leaves, careless and fallen,
No amount of time can save us now,
All of our secrets are coming out,
Even though, it was perfect,
You'll just say...
That all of this time, we have been pretending,
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
We question purity, as we dragged white sheets through the dirt of our jealousy,
We're still pretending that our hearts are mended, safe from denial yet so offensive,
So obvious we need a change, telling the truth, it feels so strange
Even though, it was perfect,
You'll just say...
That all of this time, we have been pretending,
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
It's all so familiar, that I don't remember, where we went wrong,
Where did we go?
All of this time,
We've been pretending,
Believing our own lies,
So we never have to give in,
All of this time, we have been pretending,
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
It's all so familiar, that I don't remember, where we went wrong,
Where did we go wrong?
Go wrong
Where did we go wrong?
and that's all right now, we got somethin to talk about,
Month of September, fourth floor apartment,
We were the leaves, careless and fallen,
No amount of time can save us now,
All of our secrets are coming out,
You'll just say...
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
We're still pretending that our hearts are mended, safe from denial yet so offensive,
So obvious we need a change, telling the truth, it feels so strange
You'll just say...
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
It's all so familiar, that I don't remember, where we went wrong,
Where did we go?
We've been pretending,
Believing our own lies,
So we never have to give in,
Believing our own lies, so we never have to give in,
It's all so familiar, that I don't remember, where we went wrong,
Where did we go wrong?
Go wrong
Where did we go wrong?

Self Against City has got to be one of my favorite bands right now. The "Take It How You Want It EP" is just amazing. This song seems to be about a relationship that seemed so perfect because they lied to themselves about how it actually was and now he's wondering where it went wrong at.
i can't believe only one person commented on this song. the lyrics are well written. the harmonizing is perfected. &the melody is great. if they played this song on the radio, it would definitely become an instant hit. incredibly catchy.
but that's beside the point.
the overasked question: "where did we go wrong?"
this song basically puts together all those insecure emotions that any person feels in relationships.
the imagery is great as well. "questioning purity" "dragged white sheets through the dirt "
i could go on &on.
well done, guys.
