Gordon Gano has such a great way of writing truely bitter songs!!!! This is a song about someone who's held a torch for someone for some time, never had the courage to say anything and has missed the boat when she meets someone... A sorry state of affairs and we've all been there I'm sure. I think the fact that he has quite a whiney voice (not a bad thing at all!) compliments this track really well!
