I always took this as a yearning and longing for the former days of childhood
haha these guys sure do haunting and creepy well, "my doll is DEAD" i always feel like its about a slightly unbalenced/disturbed child destroying and then mourning his toys
I agree with it being poignant. My take is that it is the spirit referring to the doll as the life on earth. It refers to society inducing in somebody that suicide is an option. Their point being Beautiful that suicide is never a good option and as a society we have a great responsibility to ensure that people are secure and valued. Violent Femmes. ????❤️????
