Suddenly Is Sooner Than You Think Lyrics
i carry it, your body
from the freeway
i cried as if my tears
would bring you back to me
the sirens followed close behind
but they were too late
deserved to drown
the last words
then you whispered
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
suddenly is soon...
...sooner than you think.
outside under a road
backwards into the ground
miss you
down, down
miss you
down, down
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
from the freeway
i cried as if my tears
would bring you back to me
the sirens followed close behind
but they were too late
deserved to drown
the last words
then you whispered
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think
backwards into the ground
miss you
down, down
miss you
down, down
suddenly is soon, sooner than you think

man. this is one beautiful song.
simply amazing
every song on this cd is so sad...this song gives me shivers and is definitly not a good song to listen to when your sad...
I think that first line is "I carried your body from the freeway". It's what she sings, and it also sticks with the past tense of the entire song.
this song is so beautiful..
yes!
exactly how she sings it... although i dont get the last part
Well, this song is obviously about a car accident killing this girl's lover and instantly changing her life.
The first verse is self-explanatory.
As for the last part:
"outside under a road backwards into the ground miss you down, down miss you down, down"
She is using short fragments and words to create the feeling of tension and movement. The person (her boyfriend? girlfriend? we'll go with "he") is being thrown from his car into the ground and she loves him as he is falling. It would be like in a movie if we were to have a slow motion shot of him falling towards the ground and then a cut to her unaware, loving him, and then back to him falling, and then back to her. It's powerful imagery, to me.
The lyrics are beautiful, the singing is perfect, and the song is amazing. Dntel translates emotion so well. He is my favorite. Love him.
The lyrics were "i miss you" not "i love you" so I messed up in that regard, but it's still the same.
This song is hauntingly gorgeous. It's not easy to forget.
