Chance Meeting Lyrics
I never thought I'd see you again
Where have you been until now?
Well how are you?
How have you been?
It's a long time since we last met
It seems like yesterday
When I first saw you
In your red dress smile
How could I forget that day?
I know that time spent well is so rare
Where have you been until now?
Well how are you?
How have you been?
It's a long time since we last met
When I first saw you
In your red dress smile
How could I forget that day?
I know that time spent well is so rare

This is a pretty obvious song, yet so amazing
I think it's about a guy seeing someone he once loved after many years. I think she left him or didn't reciprocate his feelings then. Now he see's her and all the memories about her come back to him. He's still bitter about what happened as he says 'I know that time spent well is so rare'. As though what they had doesn't come along often.
A nice simple and direct song that needs no real explaining really. Eno's synth working through the instrumental interludes is mind blowing.
Apparently this song was written after watching the film 'Brief Encounter'
