I love this song and the band. To me this is about someone loving you through your good times and bad. Giving you hope when you have none. Two people being deeply in love
What in the hell are you talking about "suicide?" Shit, are you actually contemplating that yourself? Final Eyes by Yes is NOT writing about that, but is writing about a deep relationship between a woman and a man..Good grief...read the friggin' lyrics!

Hey, I agree that the song is probably not about suicide/ best friend saving person from that, etc, but sheesh, give that guy a break, huh?....thats what makes music so great - the songs can be interpreted in many different meanings, doesn't necessarily have to be just ONE take on the lyrics. I know many songs that can & are interpreted in many different meanings by the listeners. I hope you don't have any kids...I can't imagine what happens when one of them leaves the cap off the toothpaste.

Anyway, I think I read somewhere from Jon Anderson himself that this song was about love won/ love lost/ and love won back again....FWIW...
a good friend who was always around to help him/her in bad times.
i think this song is about going through suicide, and every time the person is thinking of killing themselves, they call this one friend. towards the end, when he says 'you saved me from falling, saved me from falling, i'm so in love with you' he's saying that he's finally over this period of life where he wants to kill himself, and he's realizing he's in love with this one friend because he/she's helped him/her through so much.
