My Bare Hands Lyrics
Tonight I'm going
To New York city
The place I'll call my home
And tonight I'm going where the climate's shitty
But I won't feel so alone
And I will build it up right from the ground
Yea, with my own bare hands
Until the sun doth set
On the silhouette of this broken promise land
Of this broken promise land
Tonight I'm leaving
For old Manhattan
The place where I was born
And I will fight for hope
Like a peaceful baron
With Broadway lights forlorn
And as the buildings weep
I will not sleep
Until I dry their tears
And I will not rest
'til East and West side
Thunder with the cheers
For the land we hold so dear
Let's go!
Have a good time!
Tonight I'm going
To New York city
The place I'll call my home
Yea, tonight I'm going where the climate's shitty
But I won't feel so alone
And as the buildings weep
I will not sleep
Until I dry their tears
And I will not rest
'til East and West side thunder with the cheers
I'll build it up right from the ground
Yea, with my own bare hands
'til the sun doth set
On the silhouette of this broken promise land
Of this broken promise land
To New York city
The place I'll call my home
And tonight I'm going where the climate's shitty
But I won't feel so alone
And I will build it up right from the ground
Yea, with my own bare hands
Until the sun doth set
On the silhouette of this broken promise land
Of this broken promise land
For old Manhattan
The place where I was born
And I will fight for hope
Like a peaceful baron
With Broadway lights forlorn
And as the buildings weep
I will not sleep
Until I dry their tears
And I will not rest
'til East and West side
Thunder with the cheers
For the land we hold so dear
To New York city
The place I'll call my home
Yea, tonight I'm going where the climate's shitty
But I won't feel so alone
And as the buildings weep
I will not sleep
Until I dry their tears
And I will not rest
'til East and West side thunder with the cheers
I'll build it up right from the ground
Yea, with my own bare hands
'til the sun doth set
On the silhouette of this broken promise land
Of this broken promise land

I think the message is pretty clear...
Its about how max has pride from where he was born, and how he wants to re-build, the twin towers...and how he wants to re-build the citys fate ect... after September 11th.
This song is so amazing :).
amazing song.
love (:
I actually think max wrote this song when he moved from LA to new york to start recording.
This song was written pre 9/11, in the time before Bemis came to New York to start recording "...Is a real boy" as a rock opera(originally)
Yeah, this is just about how he's looking to New York as something different and better than the vapid and shallow lifestyle of LA. He sees it as a place where he will be able to fit in and do better for himself.
