this song is so bitter sweet! i love it!
this could be my life right here. i let someone go and never showed how much i missed her, even though it was killing me inside every day. i'm still grieving over losing the best thing that's ever happened to me.
this song just described my whole life! i liked someone so much and i couldn't tell her how much I liked her because it was too late. and now here i am barricading my feelings within myself knowing i let the chance slip away.

Supposedly - I stress the supposedly - this song was actually not about a love lost, though it's obvious why it's interpreted that way. It was about a battle with cancer. Song is actually a lot more depressing in that light.
Anyway, the fact remains that the song is really hard to listen to regardless of its meaning, it's always easy to interpret this more literally and remember old wounds.

This song came out in January of '96. I was 14. The literal meaning of this song is pretty obvious, but the emotional meaning for many people cannot be described. For me, it represents a time when life was a bit simpler.
