A babaji is a holy Hindu man, often considered in India to be half man-half god.
Even though Breakfast in America is my fav Supertramp album (shows my age), Babaji is, by far, my fav Supertramp song. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it...that's why I posted it.
Listening to this masterpiece makes me shivering... it stands for a previous life of mine I never intended to leave behind... this song will eternally going to AB - ... why.... why sooo late?

I've been listening to this song for years & years & when I first didn't know about the meaning of the word "Babaji", I thought they were singing to the inspiration itself. If you think about it, they could be talking to an asbtract concept that not even them can totally understand. Does this make sance to anyone else?

But I understand psychological phenomena like 'inspiration', and I've always interpreted the song in this way.
