Lovers Lyrics

She runs in the rain
It’s the capital connected with her fate
Stepping on the statues and on trains
We are different colors

She giggles like a child
With a smile of attention in her life
It’s written on a t-shirt and it ??
But the is no other

Cause we are the lovers
We are the lovers we’re different colors but we stand up as one
We are the lovers
We are the lovers two different colors but we stand up as one

All the silly things we do just remind me of ?? in your ??
Kissing on the statues and going through getting into trouble

She’s runs in the cold
It’s the capital connected with her bones
Jumping into taxis a way we go
Cause there is no other

Cause we are the lovers
We are the lovers we’re different colors but we stand up as one
We are the lovers
We are the lovers two different colors but we stand up as one

Cause we are the lovers
We are the lovers we’re different colors but we stand up as one
We are the lovers
We are the lovers two different colors but we stand up as one

I believe that this song is about people in general, that everyone is different colors, but we should all get along. This is truly an amazing song.

this is about being happy and in love...in brett anderson's and bernard butler's world. i love anderson's voice when he strains on 'colours'. i really can't believe they're back together again, for years it was just an NME urban legend.

I have no idea for sure but is it about an Inter-racial relationship 'Two different colours but we stand up as one'? Great song.

The lyrics are wrong, the correct lyrics are:

She shivers in the rain It's the capital connecting with her veins Stepping under statues and on trains 'Till we are under covers She giggles like a child With no sign of all the tension in her life It's written on her T-shirt and in her eyes That there is no other

'Cause we are the lovers, we are the lovers We're different colours but we stand up as one We are the lovers, we are the lovers Two different colours but we stand up as one

All the silly things we do Just remind me of the flippancy of youth Kissing under statues, throwing food And getting into trouble She shivers in the cold It's the capital connecting with her bones Jumping into taxis, here we go Yes there is no other

Cause we are the lovers, we are the lovers We're different colours but we stand up as one We are the lovers, we are the lovers Two different colours but we stand up as one

Heheh this is the most corniest song ever.. at first it kind of annoyed me because I figured after Suede, Brett and Bernard back together had to be special. But I love how anthem-y it is right when it hits the chorus. you just have to sing along :)

Damn good guitar writing by Bernard Butler. His crunchy melody exudes tons of energy in this song. The more I listen to the guitar the more I love this song. He's a damn good guitarist, I must say...
